Aplia access codes can only be registered once. If, when registering your access code, you receive an “Access Code Already in Use” message, consider the following possibilities:
- You may have already registered your access code. If you believe you have already registered your access code, please navigate to and login using the same email address utilized at the time of registration. It’s possible you may have registered your access code to an account under your school email address instead of your personal email address (or vise versa).
- Your school may be using a Learning Management System (LMS). If your school is using our product on a Learning Management System such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas or Desire2Learn, please follow the login instructions provided by your instructor in your course syllabus. If you already registered your code by logging in via your LMS, you won’t need to enter it again on CengageBrain (and vise versa).
- Your access code has already been registered by another student, therefore it is no longer active. If you purchased directly from CengageBrain and are experiencing this issue, please reach out to us via our Contact Us link so we may review. We will ensure you are provided with immediate access for your new purchase. If you made your purchase elsewhere, please return to your original point of purchase for a replacement code.
Please Note: If your email address has changed, was entered incorrectly during registration, or is no longer accessible to you, you can still use it as your username to gain access on Cengage Brain and then update it. Once logged in, please visit the Account Edit Requests tab for information on how to update your account to reflect the new email address.
