If when registering your access code you receive an “Invalid Access Code” message, consider the following possibilities:
- Did you enter the access code correctly? If you need to register an access code, please make sure that you have keyed the code correctly. Almost all access codes registered on CengageBrain.com have 14 characters and look like the following: PP1B2C3D4F5G6H. These access codes do not contain vowels (make sure you are entering the number 0 and not the letter O, for example).
- Is your school using a Learning Management System? If your school is using our product on a Learning Management System such as Moodle, Blackboard, Canvas or Desire2Learn, please follow the login instructions provided by your instructor in your course syllabus, or contact your LMS technical support if you are having difficulty accessing or navigating your LMS.
- When prompted, did you enter the correct course key? Did you confuse an access code with a course key? An Aplia course key is provided by your instructor, will look like the following; AB1C-DEFG-HJK2 and enrolls you in your specific Aplia course (each new or repeated course requires a different course key). Course Keys can be registered on your CengageBrain home page after logging in.
- Does your access code match the required code for your course? Please ensure you have validated your purchase against what is required for the course. You can normally do so by checking your class syllabus or checking with your instructor. Note that Aplia access codes are textbook specific – If your instructor is using Mankiw's Principles of Economics, 7th Edition for your course, you will need an Aplia access code for that exact textbook and edition. You may also try searching by ISBN (recommended), title, author, etc. on .
